FAQ: Double Degree or Double Major? At TCU, a double degree requires a minimum of 154 hours. A double degree is not the same as a double major. A double major consists of two majors attached to a single degree. An example is a student pursuing a BS in Strategic Communication, while double majoring in political science – only one degree/one diploma is earned. A double degree earns two separate degrees/diplomas, each with its own major. A double degree requires an additional 30 credit hours above what is required for a single bachelor’s degree.
